Vumback Orthodontics came to the project with a clear ask: build an orthodontic office that felt more mature, distinctive, and far removed from the typical kid-focused environment. As one of the first tenants in a new building in Natick, Massachusetts, the practice could shape the space from the ground up, but the level of customization pushed the project well beyond a standard clinical build.

We partnered closely with Dr. Matthew Vumback and Joe Architect Studio to execute details that required a highly coordinated construction approach. In the main treatment space, a feature wall combined integrated planters with vertical lighting. With no existing installation detail to follow, the team developed custom attachment points and carefully sequenced the planters, wiring, and finishes so each element could come together cleanly.

The customization continued in the clinical cabinetry, where knurled brass handles introduced an uncommon finish and another layer of character to the space.

Vumback Orthodontics is a strong example of what it takes to execute a clinical project with highly customized requirements. From custom fabrication to sequencing, the project relied on close collaboration and problem-solving to carry each detail from the plans and renderings through final installation.
