APX Endodontics and Sleep Better Clinic share a clinical space in Cambridge, Massachusetts, bringing two independent practices together within one medical office renovation. The challenge was to transform a previously occupied space into a modern clinical environment.

We partnered with Joe Architect Studio, Dr. Devon Ptak of APX Endodontics, and Dr. Adrian Velasquez of Sleep Better Clinic to create a cohesive environment that allowed each practice to operate independently while supporting its own workflow, patient needs, and day-to-day requirements.

APX required a larger waiting area with custom built-in seating and a refreshment station, while Sleep Better Clinic called for a more restrained approach. Arched openings and reeded wood detailing helped create continuity between the two practices while maintaining a clear sense of separation.

Behind the finished spaces, close coordination across structural elements, mechanical systems, lighting, millwork, and shared MEP infrastructure was essential. Working with both physicians early in the process helped resolve workflows, adjacencies, and technical requirements before construction began.
