The Mohebans are a family of dedicated dentists. After Wellen completed construction of a new general dental building for Alexander Moheban, DMD, in Northborough, he referred us to his brother Daniel Moheban, DMD, who needed to expand his growing pediatric dental practice in Worcester. Dr. Dan engaged a well-known architect and Wellen worked closely with the design team to create a kid-friendly, contemporary space. The plan was to move the practice from the second floor to renovated space on the first floor of an existing professional building. To keep the practice operational during construction, we built the project in two phases. First, a 2,600 sq. ft. clinical area with 12 treatment chairs in an open concept format, laboratory and sterilization areas. In the new clinical reception area, a giant wall-mounted “Lite-Brite” game sets the palette for the colorful clinic. When the clinical area was ready for patients, we built 1,300 sq. ft. of administrative space across the hall for offices, a staff lounge, and storage. Phase 1 was functional in the late fall of 2019 and phase 2 was completed in February of 2020.
