When it came time to move his prosthodontics practice to a new space, David R. Cusanello, DMD, engaged Wellen to design and build a facility that would position Lexington Prosthodontics for the next phase of its accomplished work with patients. The new space is located on the first floor of a mixed-use commercial building near the Burlington Mall. This four-month project transformed a 2,500 square-foot space into a modern dental office, designed around patient comfort and the latest technology. The décor mixes contemporary aesthetics with traditional elements like cherry wood finishes and granite surfaces to reflect the colonial nature of the communities the practice serves. The suite has eight treatment rooms, laboratory and sterilization areas, plus offices and a staff lounge. As a first-floor space, the project required significant cutting of the concrete slab of the building to accommodate all the new plumbing lines required to service the suite. During that portion of the project, Wellen worked closely with building management to limit work to off-hours so as not to disturb other tenants. The project was completed in the summer of 2019.
