After working as a staff orthodontist at a practice in New York state, Mindy Altemose, DMD, moved to Massachusetts and launched her own practice. She wanted to create not only a state-of-the-art clinical facility, but one that felt welcoming for all who needed orthodontic care. Dr. Altemose found a space in an existing retail plaza and engaged Wellen to build out her vision. Wellen brought in an architect to work with the interior designer Dr. Altemose had selected, and we led the renovation of a 2,400 sq. ft. space that had been a martial arts studio. The new clinic has 8 treatment chairs in an open concept area that faces a wall of glass. A translucent application to the windows creates privacy, but floods the space with natural light. The tile floors in the patient restrooms proclaim “smile” in black and white mosaic. This was a rapid three-month build, that was completed on-time in November of 2019.
